Welcome! My name is Mark Peter Hughes and I am an author. My new young-adult novel, Lemonade Mouth [reviews] is a Top 10 BookSense Pick, a Bank Street College of Education Best Childrens Book of the Year (Outstanding Merit), a 2008 Boston Authors Club Award Finalist, and has been selected for the 2009 RI Teen Boook Award list. It was also named winner of the 2008 ASTAL Rhode Island Book of the Year Award, and has been included in the 2010 Sequoyah Master List (High School Category) by the Oklahoma Library Association. I am the Wallpaper [reviews], my first novel, was a 2006 New York Public Library Best Book for the Teen Age, a BookSense Summer Pick, and a finalist in the Delacorte Press Young Adult Novel Competition.

Yet another update from our very own intern, Naomi Fishmeier, Scene Queen

Oh, Glorious Pursuers of the Great and Wondrous,

Much good news to share: Lemonade Mouth has been named the winner of the 2008 ASTAL Rhode Island Book of the Year Award! This is a great honor and Mark is thrilled. The novel has also been included in the 2010 Sequoyah Master List (High School Category) by the Oklahoma Library Association. Another happy occasion. Thank you, great readers of OK!

The first installment of Mark’s new series, tentatively titled THE WILD ORANGE YONDER, will be finished soon. Those who have been holding their breaths—relief is on the way! Publication is currently set for Summer 2010.
