“Dear Diary…” Diaries are places where people express their true innermost thoughts and feelings—thoughts and feelings they might not express anywhere else. In diary form, write a fictional story. It can be funny, deep, emotional, romantic, sci-fi, horror…whatever you like, as long as it tells a story. (1000 words maximum, limit one short story submission per person so send only your best work. See rules below.)

#2: What’s Really Important Poetry Contest

[contest is over - click to see winners - look for new contests here soon!]

We live in a changing world with lots of distractions. What’s really important to you? Write a poem that expresses in some way what is truly meaningful in your life, your world. (20 lines and 200 word maximum, limit two poem submissions per person so send only your best work. See rules below.)

#3: Haiku Me, Baby! Contest

Whether they’re funny, sad, deep or even ridiculous, haikus are a great way to pack a punch into a 5-7-5 structure, a seventeen-syllable work of art where every word counts. The best haikus submitted to Haiku Me, Baby! are posted there -- and at the end of the year, the very best three will be recognized with cash prizes. So Haiku Me, Baby! (See rules below.)
